Latest from Balancal

The late season this year has been the best in many years.  The weather thus far has been mostly fair with only a few days of rain and possibly because of these mild conditions, gamefish have been on the bite. The wahoo bite in particular has been good for most of October and all the way through November and they are now showing up closer to Balancal’s home port, although we still advise to book a full day to maximize your chances.  More recently some large bigeye tuna have also appeared on the scene.  These fish have been targeted primarily by commercial fishermen, as the great majority of charters have been with anglers that prefer the better odds of wahoo fishing.

With gamefishing being so good there has been little incentive to attempt bottom fishing but other boats that have done so have reported very good fishing as well, with amberjack averaging around 25 lbs taking both bait and jigs.
