Madeira island offers some of the finest big game fishing grounds for Atlantic Blue Marlin. Fish close to and in excess of 1,000lbs are caught here more than anywhere else in the world.
Madeira Fishing - For a dream catch!
Although you may not see the same numbers of marlin compared to other locations, the fish of your dreams is waiting just for you here in Madeira between May and October each year. Big Eye and Bluefin Tuna are also regularly caught with the average weight for Big Eye being around 100lbs. Wahoo up to 90lbs are not uncommon and make excellent sport on light tackle.

As we draw into the final days of 2009, it’s time to review the stellar game fishing season we’ve had in Madeira this year.
Things always start with some optimism at the start of a new big game season. Madeira for many years stood in a shadow of it’s former self, suffering from decreased numbers of fish and even fewer anglers to go after them. However, over the last few of years we have seen the island grounds return too much of their former glory. This year was no different.
